Real Breton

Obituary of Real Andre Breton

Real Andre Breton, 75, passed away peacefully January 24, 2016 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, following a long illness. Real was born on September 23, 1940 in Milan, Province of Quebec, CN. He was the oldest of eleven children born to Alfred and Juliette Breton. He was the devoted husband of Gale (Dolney) Breton. Real and Gale were married on January 13, 1962, and just celebrated their 54th Anniversary. Real was a master carpenter who took great pride in his life’s work. He enjoyed building new homes, especially the one he finished 15 years ago for himself and his wife in Ballston Lake. He enjoyed making furniture and beautiful and unique wooden bowls for his family and friends. Real was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, the Knights of Columbus and the wonderful 12-Step Program- a program that turned his life around at age 36, and not only saved his family but brought them together in a way they never could have imagined possible. He was a very humble, compassionate man, and would have celebrated 39 years of sobriety this February 11th. Real knew how to live one day at a time. He showed amazing acceptance of his cancer, trusted in his Lord, and had a quiet wisdom that he would gladly share with anyone who would listen. Real lived a truly wonderful life, and was deeply loved by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel, his father, Alfred, his sister, Nicole Donnachie and three brothers-in-law, John Kason, John Donnachie and James Workman. Real is survived by his loving wife Gale of Ballston Lake, his mother, Juliette of Brookfield, CT who is 94, his son, Paul of Ballston Lake and three daughters: Donna Skyer and her husband Marc of Valatie, Karen Manning and her husband John of Selkirk, and Lisa Smith and her husband William of Gloversville. He leaves behind thirteen cherished grandchildren: Andre, Nicholas, Daniel and Luke Breton; Justin and Thomas Skyer, Johnny and Erin Manning, Juliet, Molly, Robin and Rebecca Sear, and Kayleigh Garrow.
