Obituary of Antonette Manzone

Antonette Manzone, 95, of Swaggertown Rd.. passed away peacefully, February 15, 2016, at Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, with her family at her side. Antonette was born in Varese, Italy on September 23, 1920, to Mario and Graciosa (Poncato) Gandini. She emigrated with her family to the United States via Ellis Island in 1937, settling in Ridgefield NJ following her marriage to Libero Manzone in 1948. Mrs. Manzone was employed from 1941-1990 in the garment district of NYC working as a finisher/designer for coats sold by Bloomingdales of NY. In 1994 she moved to Bayville, NJ then to Scotia to be close to her family in 2004. The Manzone’s were members of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Scotia. Antonette enjoyed knitting and sewing. Her heart was broken in June of last year with the passing of her beloved Libero. She was blessed with a daughter and son-in-law Yolanda and Fernando Robleno of Glenville; her cherished grandsons, Fernando (Kristie) of Burnt Hills and Michael (Jennifer) of Charlton; and her adored grandchildren: Cassidy, Cayden, Derek, Corabella and Michael Robleno. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (Feb. 19) at 9:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 231 Second St. Scotia with Rev. Peter Russo officiating. Calling hours 6-8PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville Thursday evening. Entombment will be at the Prince of Peace Corridor at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. www.glenvillefuneralhome.com
