Obituary of John J. DiDonna

John J. DiDonna, 46, of Myrtle Beach, passed away suddenly February 14, 2016. John was born in Niskayuna on February 24, 1969, he was the beloved son of Ronald DiDonna and Katherine DiCesare of Glenville. John grew up in Schenectady, a 1987 graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School. He was educated in culinary arts at S.C.C.C. then at Coastal Community College, receiving his associates in arts degree. John honed his cooking skills as chef at fine Myrtle Beach Restaurants. He was employed at Peaches Restaurant where his many friends and associates loved him dearly. He was a Myrtle Beach resident for over 20 years. John was a voracious reader and excelled at the art of conversation. You could talk to him about anything and his knowledge of a subject would astound you. John loved outdoor activities, especially hiking and snow skiing. Breathing the fresh air and being in the "mountains" was a favorite environment for him. He will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his father Ron DiDonna (Mary) and Kathy DiCesare (Carl), of Glenville; his grandmother, Marion Burrows; his sister, Tanya (Bill) Seeberger and brothers, Michael and Carl (Alainna) DiCesare. John leaves behind several cherished aunts and uncles, cherished cousins and adored nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, (February 20th) at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 806 Union St. Schenectady with Rev. Richard A. Carlino officiating. Burial will be private at the family's request. It is suggested memorials be made in John Jeffrey DiDonna's name to the Albany Medical Center Children's Pediatric Unit, New Scotland Avenue, Albany NY 12208.
