Obituary of John P Michaud

John P. Michaud, 69, passed away March 10, 2016 at The Saratoga Hospital with his family at his side. Born in St. Francis, Maine, he was the son of the late Emile and Lorette Harvey Michaud. Following graduation from Fort Kent Community High School John moved to New Milford, CT. He was introduced to the logging and trucking business through the guidance of his father-in-law George R. Wilson. It was there he met his wife, the former Nancy Jane Wilson. John was a hauler in the trucking business for most of his adult life, working in the woods of Northern Maine before moving to New York to haul over the road. He was an active member of the Roman Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. John was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman yet valued his family most of all and cherished every gathering spent with them. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother Paul Michaud and sisters, Rena Goodbou and Hilda Zupcoe. Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy J. Michaud, his loving children: Robert Bruey(Dana) of Southold, NY, John H. Michaud of Limestone, ME, Wendy Voisine (Terry) of Fort Kent, ME, Holly Bowman (Aaron) of Glenville, NY and Shelley Bruey of Fort Kent, ME. Nine cherished grandchildren: Russell, Tommy, Jenny, Kelly, Marissa, Sherrie, Patrick, Ari and Hannah as well as 7 great grandchildren: Seth, Ryleigh, Gavin, Finnigan, Wyatt, Lilly and Bailey. John leaves behind his sister, Bridget Loranger and her husband Robert of Wolcott, CT and brothers and sisters-in-law Edward and Marilyn Wilson, Christine Wilson and Charles Wilson. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive John. Relatives and friends will gather at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road in Glenville New Yorkon Monday (March 14) from 6 pm-8 pm for visiting hours with the family. Calling hours will also be held on Wednesday (March 16) at the Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St. Fort Kent, ME. Interment in the spring in Vianney Cemetery in St. Francis, ME.
