Obituary of Scott Drouin

Scott M. Drouin formally of Scotia, New York passed away suddenly on January 4th 2013 of natural causes at his residence in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Scott was born January 28th 1967, the son of Michael E. Drouin, formerly of Scotia, New York and Jacqueline C. (White) Drouin of Schenectady, NY. He was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and enlisted in the United States Navy upon graduation, serving 15 years before retiring from the Navy. After numerous state-side assignments, the bulk of his Naval career was serving at the Naval base in Rota, Spain. At that location he was the Petty Officer aboard P3c aircraft performing surveillance & reconnaissance missions over the then "Iraqi no fly zone" of the time, in preparation for the "Desert Storm" operation in response to Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait. Subsequent to his Naval career he was employed by the American Electronic Warfare Associates Company in Maryland. He left that employment to become a journeyman expert avionics specialist working for numerous companies on both military and commercial aircraft until his untimely death. In addition to his parents he is survived by his children, twin daughters Chelsea Michelle & Lesley Cristina of Portugal, his sister Michelle, his maternal grandmother Helen White and his uncles John A. Drouin of Glenville and Thomas P. Drouin of Colonie, maternal uncle Steven White of Schenectady. Aunts Janice Barlette of Burtonsville, NY and Judith A. Creasy of Schenctady, as well as their children; Scott's cousins. Also his great AuntLouise Marconi of Schenectady.. A private service, for immediate family only, will be conducted at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY on Monday, January 14th 2013. Scott was a kind and avid animal lover; In lieu of flowers or other memorabilia, donations to the Animal Protection Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue Scotia, NY 12302, in Scott's name, would be gratefully appreciated.
