Obituary of Carol Ann Carmello
Carol Ann (Busch) Carmello entered Eternal Life on April 5, 2016. Born on March 3, 1936 in Albany, she was the daughter of Regina Scheidel Van Voorhis and Andrew Busch.
She is survived by her devoted and caring spouse Joseph and their three loving children Joseph(June) Carmello, Mary Carmello and Regina (Brian) Maley
She cherished her 11 grandchildren: Timothy, Katherine, Joseph (Cassie), Andrew, Elizabeth, James, Christine, Nicholas, Julia, Christopher and Erin. And her sister Elizabeth Pauquette (Joseph). Predeceased by her brother Andrew (Ann) Busch and sister Jane (George) Arnold. She is also survived by brothers and sisters in law:
Elaine Scaccia, Jeanette (James) Demarco, William (Judy) Carmello, Ron (Joan) Carmello, several nieces and nephews, godchildren and her ‘third” daughter Siobhan Donnelly, a large circle of friends- most dear- Anne Foyle and Arlene Williams.
Predeceased by John (Nancy) Carmello, John Scaccia, Joan (Bob) Maud, Thomas Carmello, Dolores Murphy.
Carol was a graduate of Philip Schuyler HS and grew up in Albany. She lived in Schenectady and Scotia before moving to Edgewater Florida over 20 years ago. She was an active member of St Gerard's Mission Church in Edgewater. Carol was a woman of substance and great faith.
In her early 40s, she was miraculously cured of ovarian cancer and devoted her life to Mary the Blessed Mother and Jesus Christ. Her motto was “To Jesus Thru Mary”. She also had a strong devotion to St Therese, the little flower, and would often find random rose petals in her path. Carol loved the ocean, especially Cape Cod, and spent many summers there vacationing with her family.
Carol was a talented singer and songwriter, publishing over 100 songs and recording an album “Come Rest In My Heart”. She belonged to many church groups including Altar Rosary Society, Third Order Dominicans, Fr. Patrick Peyton Rosary Crusade,
Mary’s Way of the Cross and volunteered for Birthright, Right to Life and Hospice. She was a Red Hat Society member. She enjoyed attending mass, family sing a-longs, sewing and crafting. The family wishes to thank VITAS doctors and nurses, and her granddaughter Katie who along with her husband Joe provided tender loving care until the end.
There will be calling hours on April 22 from 6 to 8 pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, located at 9 Glenridge Road in Glenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 23 at 9am at Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville NY. Interment will follow at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY
