Obituary of Dennis Kaups

Dennis Kaups, 76, departed this life Sunday, April 24, 2016 and will now be joined with his late wife and soul mate, Carolyn, forever with their Lord and Savior, Jesus, whom they served and loved for many years. Dennis was born in Tartu, Estonia to Elsa and Karl Kaups February 4, 1940. He and his family moved to New York in 1947. He later moved to Bayonne, NJ. There he met and married Carolyn Claire Eycke in 1973. They were together 43 years. Dennis attended New York Institute of Credit, NY Institute of Finance, and Empire State College. He worked in the Wall Street securities and banking industry for 35 years in various positions, rising to the position of Assistant V.P. From there he worked for the NY State Department of Health for 7 years before retiring in 2006. In retirement he enjoyed reading, building and refinishing furniture, and traveling with his wife to visit family and explore the country. He was an active member of his church, Faith Baptist in Rexford, teaching Sunday school and volunteering for the food pantry and running the coffee stations Sunday mornings. Dennis is survived by a son, Dennis W. (Andrea) of Clifton Park; and daughters, Leigh-Ann (John, Cora, Christopher, John J., Josephine) Vinciguerra of Wellington, FL; Marika (Brian and Quintin) Tierney of Ballston Spa. He was predeceased by his wife Carolyn and brothers; Peter of Toronto, Canada and Andres of Kitchener, Ontario. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church, 11 Glenridge Road, Rexford, NY; 3-4p.m. for remembrance and fellowship, 4p.m. a service of celebration of life.
