Obituary of Ada Arsenault Barry

Ada Arsenault Barry passed from this world after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, May 2, 2016. Ada was born in Rhinebeck, NY on October 9, 1943; daughter of the late Gladys Ackert Arsenault and Philip Arsenault. Ada attended Rhinebeck High School. After marriage, Ada settled in the Schenectady area with her husband Craig L. Barry to start a family, eventually becoming a resident of Ballston Lake, NY for many years where she was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. Once empty-nesters, Ada and Craig moved to Glenville, NY. Ada held various jobs outside the home over the years in management roles in food service; the latest being at Hannaford supermarket in Glenville, NY for upwards of two decades. Ada was a devoted member of Burnt Hills Methodist Church. Ada enjoyed working hard. Whether it be in her home or outside in the yard, her dedication to keeping her surroundings beautiful for her and her family were always appreciated. She kept a meticulous home and gorgeous gardens. She loved cooking for and being surrounded by her family. She also enjoyed puzzles of almost any kind, playing the occasional online slots game and loved her daily breakfasts at the Burnt Hills Cafe. Anyone in Ada's life was blessed for having known her. She was a kind, caring, gentle soul with a giant heart whose purpose in life was caring for others; and she did like no other. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones, who will celebrate her life for years to come. Loving wife of over 54 years, she is survived by her husband Craig L. Barry, daughter Lindsay Barry Kline, son Craig P. Barry (Christina), daughter Caroline E. Barry, she was a loving Mema to Jessica, Josh and Jake Jablonowski; and Zachary and Madaline Barry. She is also survived by four brothers and three sisters; Bob, Bill, Joe, Butch (Philip), Barbara Arsenault, Linda Russell and Nancy Young, and sister-in-law Paula DellaRocco as well as many nieces and nephews.
