At Mike's service today I kept waiting for him to walk in with a big grin and come out with some witty one liner that would have us all laughing. He had a great sense of humor. Mike was one of the good guys and as the song says Only the Good Die Young and we know that Mike would have known all the words to that song! Mike sang along to every song on the radio..especially the oldies that he loved and good old rock and roll. I thank him for teaching me the lyrics to many of those songs. I have so much to thank Mike for..such as being a great friend, one that you could always count on in good and bad times, to lift your mood if you were down, to care for you if you were sick, to support and guide you. He taught me to appreciate the beauty in nature and to savor the simplest of things. That man truly had a heart of gold and was one of the most caring, generous, compassionate persons I have met. Unfortunately, I have been out of touch with Mike the past few years and that is something I will always regret. With Mike's sudden passing, it has taught me that one should not put off to tomorrow what you should do today and that life is precious and we should live each day to it's fullest. I will remember Mike for dancing with all his heart to the Peanuts theme song..just like Snoopy! He would brighten up any room he entered..he had the ability to walk into a room full of strangers and before long, they were his friends. My family and Mike shared a love for Cape Cod and I am thankful that we were able to enjoy many vacations together and has left us with so many wonderful memories that I will always treasure. I am honored that I was able to share time with Mike and for that I will be eternally grateful. Until we meet again..I love you.

Gone way too soon. Mike was such a great and kind individual, one that could make you laugh without even trying. Playing his Christmas music in the middle of October when I didn't even want to think of Christmas so soon made me laugh. Next October I will play a Christmas song, thinking of you, Mike! I will miss everything about him. He touched everyone that he came across. Any one that did not know Mike missed out meeting such a great souled human being. There are not many people like Mike in the world. He will truly be missed. Best Wishes to his family. You have truly lost a wonderful person, but he has left such a place in my life and many lives that he will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace, Mike...until we meet again!!

Such a beautiful and caring soul... gone way to soon. I had the pleasure of working with Mike at Hale Creek Correctional Facility. He was a good friend and a better man. Our daily chats made me smile and he picked me up when I was down. This truly is a terrible loss to many. Prayers to his fiance and family. Love you Mike. You will be missed greatly. Rest in peace my friend. ♥

I learned in my first 30 days at Hale Creek exactly what kind of man and friend Mike was. He stood beside me and he stood up for me when I needed him. Work and my life will no longer be the same without his smile, his stories and his laugh, not to mention his gentle kindness. He brightened our lives, and he will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Teresa, and the rest of Mike's family. Rest in peace, my beloved brother in blue, until we meet again.
