Obituary of Philip Norton Lawson

Philip N. Lawson,74, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2016. Born in Concord MA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Madeline Lawson. Philip graduated from St. Albans in Vermont and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University. He proudly served his nation in the Army from 1963 to 1966. Philip was the proud member of the Masons Otsego Chapter, Eastern Star, Shriners North America and always enjoyed attending the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. With his brother Conrad Lawson, Phil co-owned Rickard-Baker Oil Company in Fort Plain, NY. Philip married the love of his life, Fran on November 2, 1980. He was very outgoing and loved to travel, dance and talk to anyone. He also enjoyed gardening, reading, learning history and most importantly spending time with his family. Philip is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years Fran Lawson, his loving children Adam Lawson of Syracuse, Helen Lawson (Ray Vacca) of Rotterdam, Christina Feldman of Rexford and Robin Glindmyer (Peter) of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Michael and Ryan Glindmyer. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his brother Conrad Lawson, sister Janet Dow (Donald), sister-in-law Sylvia Attanasio (Paul), brother–in-law John Richards and son-in-law Larry Feldman. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. The family will receive guests from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM prior to Mass on Monday at the church. Interment with full military honors will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville, NY 12302.
