Obituary of Mary Farrell
Mary E. Farrell, 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on May 14, 2016.
Mary was born on October 15, 1921 in Stillwater, NY, the daughter of the late William F. and M. Beatrice (Nolan) Farrell. Mary graduated from Mechanicville High School and Mildred Elley Business School in Albany. She was employed by General Electric for over 45 years. She was an avid skier and golfer, loved sewing and knitting, and was the family photographer, never missing an important event involving her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Cape. Mary was a longtime parishioner at the Church of the Immaculate Conception and devoted many hours to church ministries. She also volunteered at the Dominican Retreat House and the Regional Food Bank.
May was predeceased by her brother, SSGT. William F. Farrell, her beloved sister, Betty J. Nally, niece, Mary Anne Mastrianni, and nephew, Edward Mastrianni. She is survived by her sister Helen F. Mastrianni of Concord, NC; cherished aunt of Mary Jane (Al) Whittemore of Saratoga Springs, Kathleen C. (late Arnold) Peer of Stuyvesant, NY, Anne E. (Peter) Stuyvesant of Rockville Centre, NY, Patricia N. (Stephen) Randall of Hingham, MA, Susan E. (Thomas) McCormick of Cohoes, NY, Michael (Carol) Mastrianni of Peekskill, NY, William Mastrianni of Summerville, SC, Margaret Mastrianni Sawicki of Davidson, NC, Anthony (Tish) Mastrianni of Hillsborough, NC and Theresa Bennett of Charlotte, NC. Mary is also survived by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and their children, as well as cousins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11 am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville. A calling hour will precede the Mass at the Church, beginning at 10 am. Mausoleum entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tibbitts Avenue in Troy.
