Obituary of Edwin E. Cartwright

Edwin E. Cartwright II, 60, died on July 12, 2016 after an acute illness. He was the son of the late Harmon and Louise Cartwright. Edwin is survived by sisters: Lois, Lorraine and Karen; brothers: Tommy, Craig and Brian; stepmother Margaret and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Bonnie Deamer and most recently by his brother Donald who passed away January 2, 2016. Edwin graduated from Linton High School and Spencer Business and Technical Institute and subsequently worked at Ellis Hospital for 38 years; most of the time being spent as a film librarian in radiology, He loved astronomy, history, travelling, bowling, and was an avid Yankees fan. Edwin had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed telling many jokes. A knee-slapping hearty laugh was sure to follow. Although he was plagued by chronic illnesses in his adult life, he persevered, did not dwell on the negative and never complained. He as a kind and gentle man who lived his life loving his family, friends and animals, especially his cat, Daisy Mae. Services will be held on Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1 pm. Father Dominick Isopo will lead a celebration of Eddie’s life at 1pm. Donations may be made to Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
