Obituary of Helen "Honey" Cecelia (O’Leary) Jennings

Helen Cecelia (O’Leary) Jennings passed away peacefully in the arms of the Lord on Wednesday July 13, 2016. Helen was born in Hudson Falls, NY on September 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Leo and Cecelia (Prevost) O’Leary. She was a graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam, NY. On April 7, 1951, Helen married her beloved husband, the late Elwood Jennings. Helen worked for several years as a secretary in the athletic department of Scotia – Glenville High School, and then subsequently worked as a secretary for General Electric, retiring in 1987. Helen was an avid reader and traveler. Helen and Elwood belonged to the Happy Wanderers Travelling Club, seeing the world on many trips. Survivors include her sons: Keith (Donna) Jennings of Broadalbin and Steven (Michelle) Jennings of Ballston Spa; her beloved grandchildren: Brian (Sara), Daniel (Tara), Matthew (Dana) Jennings, and Amanda (Gavin)) Valenty; her four great grandchildren: Curt, Samantha, Wyatt and Whitney; her brother Robert ( Barbara) O’Leary of Scotia; her sister-in-law Silvia Zierak of Amsterdam, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services on Friday July 15, 2016 will begin at 11 AM from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd, Glenville, NY. Interment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9:30 to 11 am at the funeral home prior to the services.
