Obituary of Wilma Becker Turchi

Wilma (Becker) Turchi, "Willie", 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Ballston Lake August 2, 2016. Willie was born in the Town of Wright, Schoharie County on May 8, 1920. She was the beloved daughter of the late Grover and Lela R. Schell Becker. Willie was a class of 1939 graduate of Schoharie Central High School. Willie and her husband, the late Gino Turchi (2012), built and ran the former Northway Heights Golf Club for over 25 years. Willie and Gino were heavily involved with Siena College and Albany College of Pharmacy and benefactors of Schenectady County Y.M.C.A. Beside her beloved husband Gino, Willie was preceded in death by her son Eugene "Gigi" Turchi in 1993. She is lovingly survived her cherished nieces and nephews and numerous friends. A special thank you goes to Stephanie Van Auken for all the love and care she gave to Willie. Her requests will be granted. There will be no public calling hours. A Rite of Committal officiated by Rev. Kevin Mullen (Siena College) is to be held graveside at Historic Jonesville Cemetery, Ushers Rd. Jonesville, Friday (August 5) at 11 am.
