Obituary of William S. Harper

Born in Plattsburgh, NY , he was the son of the late Walter and Henrietta Harper. Mr. Harper was a commercial electrician working out of Local 166 in Schenectady and was an executive board member of the union. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army from '51'-'53. William married the former Patricia Taylor on April 15, 1972. They lived in Glenville for 43 years. Bill was a member of Centre Glenville United Methodist Church, Beukendahl Lodge 915 F&AM and I.B.E.W. He was predeceased by his grandson Timothy, his twin brother, Richard and brother David Harper. Survivors include his beloved wife, Patricia Harper, three sons: Mark Harper (CA), Brook Harper (FL) and Todd (Jaime) Harper of Glenville; a daughter, Melissa (Richard) Adams of Glenville. Grandchildren: Steven and Hannah Harper, Arika, Alaina and Logan Adams and Luca, Connor and Katelyn Harper. Bill is survived also by his sister, Geraldine Favaro of Plattsburgh and sisters-in-law, Lois Harper of Ballston Spa and Claudia Harper of AZ. Several nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, at 11 am at Centre Glenville United Methodist Church, (Corner of Route 147 & Bolt Rd.), Centre Glenville with the Rev. Eric Kerwath officiating. Calling hours Friday 6-8PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. A Masonic service will be held at the end of visiting hours. Rite of committal with military honors will take place at Centre Glenville Cemetery on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
