Obituary of Alice Campbell

Alice M. Campbell started her new year with her Lord, Jesus on January 1st. She died peacefully at age 100 at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had resided the past two years. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Campbell Bullis of Glenville, three grandchildren, Campbell M. Osborne of Delanson, Victor B. Osborne of New York City, and Victoria E. Osborne of Glens Falls. Alice leaves behind her brother, John Corley of Sharon Springs and several nieces and nephews. She was born ALICE MARJORIE SHEPHERD on June 2, 1912 in Greenfield, N.Y. In 1934 she married Kenneth R. Campbell, who preceded her in death in 1972. Mrs. Campbell worked in the patent department of the General Electric Co. for several years, leaving to raise her daughter and, together with her husband, build their dream home in Glenville. Later she worked in the office of the Bellevue Reformed Church for 30 years. Mrs. Campbell was a charter member of the Glenville Hill Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and a member of the East Glenville Community Church. She enjoyed her country home, was an avid garener, a talented seamstress, and a lover of birds and animals. Most of all she was a faithful friend and a loving wife, mother and grandmother to all of us who will miss her. A memorial service celebrating her life here and in eternity will be held at the East Glenville Community Church, 335 Saratoga Rd., Glenville, on SUNDAY, JANUARY 27th at 2:00 PM with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the church.
