Obituary of Geraldine Kopmeyer

Geraldine (Menge) Kopmeyer, 96, originally of Scotia, went to her eternal resting place on Monday, August 15, 2016. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Martin & Maude Menge. Geraldine was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and attended secretarial school prior to her employment at the Schenectady Army Depot during WWll. After many years as a full-time wife and mother, she accepted a part-time secretarial position with Ellis Hospital. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church for many years and also enjoyed her time on the Burnt Hills Senior Bowling League. Gerry was predeceased by her husband, John A. Kopmeyer, in 1999, as well as her sister, June Kreski, of Ballston Spa. She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Kathryn, of Yuma, AZ; her daughter, Pamela Gossard of Harrington Park, NJ; 5 grandchildren, Alan Kopmeyer & his wife Janie, of San Diego, CA; Jennifer Kopmeyer of Yuma, AZ; Sander Gossard & his wife, Alexis, of Hackensack, NJ, as well as Jonathan & Carly Gossard, also residents of NJ; 5 great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Alana, Joshua & Lauren Kopmeyer of San Diego, CA, and Nolan Gossard of Hackensack, NJ. She is also survived by several cousins, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews including her niece, Karen (Kreski) Gregiore, of Mechanicville, and nephew, Robert Kreski of TN. Services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY 12302. A calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. will be held prior to the service. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Colonie, immediately following the service.
