Obituary of Alice Isabelle Walrath

Alice Isabelle Walrath, age 95, drifted peacefully into eternal rest at home with family at her side on August 19, 2016, after a full and admired life.  Alice was born to George and Mary Atkins on June 29th, 1921 in Scotia, NY. Alice is now at peace together with family and friends that predeceased her, including her beloved husband of 58 years, Olin S. Walrath (Bud). She will be greatly missed by her family and friends she’s leaving behind.  Alice’s primary passion in life was her family.  She was the cherished and devoted mother of five children:  Olin S. Walrath Jr. of Goodrich, Texas who is married to Rose Walrath, George A. Walrath of Jackson, Michigan, who is married to Victoria Walrath, Peter A. Walrath of Houston, Texas, who is married to Donna Walrath, Paul A. Walrath of Penn Yan, NY, who is married to Marian Walrath, and Margo A. Walrath of Scotia, NY.   She was “Mom-Mom” to nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice requested a private funeral and burial.  She will be laid to rest in the Sweetman Cemetery, on Sweetman Road in Ballston Lake, NY next to her loving husband.  In lieu of flowers, and in ultimate gratitude for her ever-constant companion CeCe, memorial donations may be made in her name to Shih Tzus and Furbabies Small Breed Dog Rescue via their website at Stfbr.org.
