Obituary of Nancy S. Rusilas

Nancy S. Rusilas (nee: DiCicco), 84, passed away peacefully in her home August 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 11, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bumbardatore) DiCicco. Nancy graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1949. On May 9th 1954, she married Ralph R. Rusilas at St. Michael the Arc Angel Church in Amsterdam, NY. In 1975 she and Ralph moved to Ballston Lake. Both were very active parishioners of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. Nancy was a charter member of Our Lady of Peace Prayer Group and was active until she could no longer participate. Her beloved husband Ralph predeceased her on June 13, 2015. Nancy was a fabulous cook and baker as well. She was famous for her Christmas Cookies and gifting them to everyone to enjoy. She often canned vegetables from her garden to later use to prepare for family meals. Nancy enjoyed traveling with her husband as well as boating along the Mohawk River. They were longtime boating enthusiasts and belonged to the Schenectady Yacht Club. Nancy was also a member of the Ballston Bees craft group. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Sam DeCicco and brother-in-law, John Uhlinger. Survivors include her children: sons, David R. Rusilas and his wife Debra of Charlton and Michael A. Rusilas and his wife Patricia of Ballston Lake; a daughter, Kathleen M. Rusilas and her husband Patrick Chase of Stow, MA; her cherished sister, Josephine Uhlinger of Ballston Spa; Loving grandchildren: Michael and Eric Rusilas; Amanda (Ryan) Pezzulo , Matthew Rusilas and Sarah Chase. Nancy saw the birth of her first great-grandchild, Stanley Ralph Pezzulo earlier in the year. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 1st at 9 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville by the Rev. Jerome Gingras, Pastor. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville Wednesday from 4-7 PM.
