Obituary of Ethel E. Howard

Ethel E. Howard, 85, of Glenville, passed away peacefully at home September 5, 2016. Born May 21, 1931 in Pike Brook, NY to the late Eugene and Ruby Villeneuve, she graduated from Whitehall High School, class of 1948. She then went on to Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1951. Ethel served as RN for St. Clare's Hospital from 1967-1996. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John Whitney Howard Sr. on June 18, 2015. Ethel was predeceased by four sisters; Gertrude Marnes, Rose Denno, Agnes Tracey and Doris Pendt. Survivors include her son, John W.(Sue) Howard Jr of Glenville; six grandchildren: Tyra Howard (Rob), Ruby Howard of Conifer, CO, Collin Howard of Saranac Lake, NY, Ted (Crystal) Howard of Boston, MA; Phillip and Chase Howard of Scotia. Ethel was blessed with 5 great grandchildren: Alissa, Craig, Tymber Rose Haney, Ashlyn and Zyler Howard and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Friday (September 9) 11 AM in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville with Rev. Dr. John Califano officiating. A calling period from 10-11 will precede services.
