Obituary of Salvatore D. Croce

Salvatore D. Croce "Dallas", 38, passed away peacefully September 12, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital with his family at his side. Born in Schenectady, he grew up in Scotia where he attended Scotia-Glenville High School (class of 1996). Dallas played football and soccer and was a member of the school's ski club, a sport he enjoyed with his family going to Mad River, VT, Sugarbush...etc. At age 21, Dallas moved to Saratoga where he took a job with Target and worked at the warehouse in Gansvoort for 17 years. He took great pride in staying fit and regularly worked out. Dallas enjoyed swimming and taking trips to the Jersey Shore. He had a soft heart for animals, especially dogs and cats. During high school he worked at the Burnt Hills Veterinarian Hospital. Although his name said otherwise, Dallas was a true "Raider Nation" fan of the Oakland football franchise; his other favorite, the Boston Red Sox. Survivors include his parents, Salvatore "Sam" and Doreen (Margiotta) Croce of Glenville; his twin sister, Shannon (Shaun) Howe of Topsfied, MA; grandfather, Louis Croce of Lakeland, FL and grandmother, Marion Margiotta of Thiells, NY; uncles, Richard (Kristine) Croce of Clifton Park, Louis (Bridget) Croce of Lakeland, FL,; aunts, Judy (Alan) DeCrosta of Schenectady, Carol (Garrett) King of Middletown, NJ, Linda Leibel of Thiells, NY, Larry (Cheryl) Margiotta and Michael Margiotta of Thiells, NY and Douglas (Linda) Margiotta of Plymouth, MN. Dallas is survived also by several cherished cousins and special nieces, Ava and Lea Howe; and his faithful beagle companion of 15 years, Charlotte. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 15, at 12 noon at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville with the Rev. Richard A. Carlino officiating. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
