Obituary of Georgette S. Brilling

Georgette S. Brilling, 70, of Scotia, NY, passed away suddenly on September 21, 2016 after a long illness. Raised in Rotterdam, she was a 1964 graduate of Mohonasen High School and a 1966 graduate of Spencer Business School. After school, she worked for the H.S. Barney Company. Georgette was employed and retired from the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia after 28 years of service. She was the town of Glenville's first OSHA Safety Officer. She was also a member of the Glenville Senior Center. Georgette was once employed at the First Baptist Church in Scotia where she was the children's church coordinator. She most recently belonged to the Burnt Hills Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Shirley and Carl Price.  She was also predeceased by her brother Stephen Price, who passed away in 2016. Georgette is lovingly survived by her husband Robert Brilling Jr., whom she married in 1966; her son, Robert Brilling III, and daughter Staci (Brilling-Powhida) Geiger. She is also survived by her brothers, Mark Price (Susan), David Price (Lori) and her sisters, Barbara Freer (Bob Hoffman) and Shawn Fredericks (George).  Also surviving are several brothers and sisters -in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Also left to mourn is her much beloved cat, Wally. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday (Sept 26) at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. with Rev. Trudy Pettibone officiating. Calling hours Sunday (Sept 25) from 6 to 8 pm.  Interment will be in Maple Shade Cemetery, Vley Rd. Scotia.  In lieu of flowers, it was Georgette's request that contributions be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue Scotia or the Mohawk Humane Society.  Online condolences to the Brilling family may be expressed at GLENVILLEFUNERALHOME.COM.
