To the family of Miki,
I send my most sincere condolences upon learning of Miki's death. I am shocked and saddened. I met Miki at the YMCA, where she skillfully and caringly taught my daughter in swimming lessons. Until then I had been disappointed in the quality of lessons. Miki brought a maturity and understanding of how to teach my daughter, showing attention to my daughter as an individual and finding an approach that engaged her and encouraged her to be a better swimmer. It was a small group of kids, and at the end of each class Miki had a little gift of a little toy, candy, or 'Good job!' sticker. She was awesome, and the kids loved her. My daughter adored her! I was so impressed that I later got in touch with Miki to ask if she might be interested in teaching my daughter and her friend privately in the friend's pool. Miki kindly declined, having a full plate already. My daughter and I had the good fortune of running into Miki and Rhoda @ The Edge climbing gym in Half Moon one afternoon, and we were thrilled to see her and share a hug. :)
Please know that I am so very sorry. Miki was a bright light in our lives for a very short time, making me realize how very great your loss now is.
