Obituary of Gary Michael Anderson

Gary M. Anderson, 62, of Glenville, passed away peacefully September 30, 2016, at Ellis Hospital. Gary was raised in Rotterdam, the son of the late Zigmunt T. (Andryszczyk) Anderson and Jean (Idzikowski) Anderson. A 1972 graduate of Mohonasen HS, he received his bachelor's degree in psychology from Albany State University. Gary later retires as an auditor for NYS Tax and Finance. He married the former, Eva Rakowski, in 1979. Gary moved to Glenville in 1987. He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. In earlier years, Gary played football. His love of the outdoors gave him the opportunity of hiking numerous trails, hunting and fishing trips with friends and family, biking and cross country skiing. Survivors include his wife, Eva Anderson; sons, Jason and Joshua Anderson, all of Glenville; three sisters, Arlene (Edward) Flanagan of Lake Luzerne, Janice Anderson and Sharon (Shaun) Miller of Seattle, WA; two nephews, Jordan and Brendon Flanagan; his niece, Julie Dever; and great niece, Lela. A celebration of his Gary's life will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Memorial services will be held at 7 pm.
