Obituary of Angeline Pagnotta
Angeline (Santa Barbara) Pagnotta, 97, after a full life, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Angie (MaMooch) was born in Mechanicville, NY on July 7, 1919. One of nine children born to the late Luigi Santa Barbara and Anna Maria Aragosa.
Angie met, Gasper Pagnotta, in Schenectady, NY, were wed on July 21, 1940, and subsequently made their home in the Bellevue section of Schenectady, later to build a home in Rexford, NY.
Angie's greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the years, every Friday was spent with her son, Michael and her daughter-in-law, Vicki, going to appointments, running errands, and having supper at their house. Her granddaughter, Jaime's, fondest memory of childhood were the Sunday afternoons spent cooking with her, while the boys went fishing.
Angie took such pride in gathering her family together every Sunday for her famous fried meatballs and sauce. When supper was ready, Angie would walk down to the dock and call the boys in using her blow horn. Angie taught her grandson, Cory, to have a passion for food and a love for cooking as well as the value of a "crushing" hug. Her 13 year old great-grandson, Logan, loved having long talks with (MaMooch) about how things were when she was his age. Her 11 year old great-granddaughter, Abbey's, fondest memory was of making meatballs together. Angie loved being entertained by Abbey's dancing and thought she may become a professional dancer one day.
One of Angie's deepest regrets was living too far away from her son, Alan, daughter-in-law, Gretchen; grandsons, Christopher and wife, Alexis, Timothy and wife, Jetta; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Olivia. She looked forward to her daily phone calls from Alan and email's from her grandchildren. Angie was blessed to have had such a close, fun loving relationship with her sisters. Every night Angie would conference call her two sisters, Adeline Morrett and Rose Cinquino, and toast to another day with a shot of Sambuca. Anyone who knew Angie, knew she was always smiling and up for a good time.
Besides her husband, Gasper; she was also predeceased by her siblings, Andrew, Salvador (Joe), Pauline, Consetta, Chester, Adeline (Dill) and Anna; as well as her grandson-in-law, Francis Perreault.
She is survived by her sister, Rose Cinquino; her sons, Michael D. and wife, Vicki of Glenville and Alan R. and wife, Gretchen Pagnotta of San Diego, CA. Four grandchildren, Christopher and wife, Alexis, Cory and wife, April, Jaime and husband, Brian, Timothy and wife, Jetta. Nine great-grandchildren, Logan and Abigail Perreault, Carson and Nora Mortensen, Emily, Erin and Joseph Pagnotta, Benjamin and Olivia Pagnotta.
