Obituary of Mary Alice Cintula

Mary Alice (Tatowicz) Cintula, 86, of Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. The daughter of Mary Kowalski and Henry Tatowicz, she was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Schenectady, NY to marry the late Joseph A. Cintula. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. Mary always put the needs of others above her own, especially in caring for and raising her four grandchildren. She enjoyed polka music and polka dancing. Being an avid baseball fan, she followed the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox. Mary was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Schenectady, NY. She also belonged to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville, NY. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Cintula, whom she married on October 13, 1951. She is survived by two beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Bob Reed of Glenville, NY and Marianne and John Green of Newburyport, MA; four grandchildren, Colleen and Ian Reed of Glenville, NY, Sean Green of Santa Clara, CA and Elizabeth Green of Newburyport, MA; sister, Irene Borysiewicz of Sarasota, FL; brother, Henry Tatowicz of Brooklyn, NY; sisters-in-law Marian Cintula of Glenville, NY and Marlene Cintula of Rotterdam, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was also predeceased by her a sister, Helen Sefcovic of Schenectady, NY; brothers, Casimir Tatowicz of El Paso, TX and Edward Tatowicz of Anchorage, AK; brothers-in-law Edward Broysiewicz of Sarasota, FL, John, Steven and Anthony Cintula of Schenectady, NY; and sister-in-law, Caroline Fretto of Schenectaady, NY. Please celebrate Mary’s life with her family on Monday, December 26, 2016. Calling hours at Glenville Funeral Home, Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY will be between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville, NY. Interment will be at St. Cyril's Cemetery, Duanesburg Road, Rotterdam, NY. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Amanda, her friend and caregiver, and to Jackie and the support staff at Hospice.
