Obituary of Janice M. DeLano

Janice M. DeLano, 79, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Ithaca, New York she was the daughter of the late W. Allen and Beatrice Young. Raised in Auburn, she was a graduate of West High School. She met her beloved husband Kennett D. DeLano in high school at the age of 15. Following graduation she went on to attend nursing school. Janice was a member of the Charlton Snowmobile club, Kayderosseras Rod and Gun Club and former member of the Auburn Car Club. Janice was a bus driver for the Burnt Hills School District and retired from the office of Dr. Robert Baldauf DPM after being employed as an office manager for many years. Janice will always be remembered for being a social butterfly. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her loving family, collecting antiques, cooking and travel. She also enjoyed trap and skeet shooting, as well as gardening. Janice was predeceased by her husband Kennett D. DeLano, as well as her two sisters and one brother, Carol, Anne, and Gary. She is survived by her four children Pamela A. DeLano, Jeffrey W. DeLano (Lisa), Allen K. DeLano and Lisa M. Zambito. Her grandchildren, Brett, Aaron, Lydia, Elena, Zachary, Megan, Christopher, Matt and Luke, as well as her great grandchildren Michelle, Alyssa, William, Sara and Brandon also survive. Calling Hours for Janice will be held Saturday January 21,2017 from 4-7pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. Memorial service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home.
