Obituary of James Arthur McRee

James “Jayme” Arthur McRee, 54, of Selkirk, NY passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2017. Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he was the son of Carol Jean Richards and the late Arthur Russell McRee. James grew up in Clifton Park, he graduated from Shenendehowa High School in ’80. After High School, Jayme attended SUNY Cobleskill and Siena College. He worked in Albany as the Director of Child Services at Capital Counseling and Mental Health. He was an avid outdoors man, who loved to ski, hike, snowboard, and canoe especially when with his 12 year old son, Rael. Jayme coached his son’s soccer and football teams; he was a dedicated and loving father. Playing the bass and drums was a passion of James, he had a deep appreciation for music and live performance. Jayme was a faithful Seahawks fan, who always rooted against the Cowboys with his brother Drew. Jayme, and his sister Sheila, were almost “Irish twins”, and were every bit as close. Survivors include his mother, Carol Richards; step-fathers, Dr. Jack Richards and Andrew Janik (Sharon); son, Rael James McRee; daughter, Heather Marie Bartholomew; grandson, Christopher Jardo; Siblings: Sheila McRee (Peter), Christine Paterson (Jay); J.R. Richards (Ali); Andras Janik (Heather) and Thomas Richards (Hollie); uncles Alfred Maurer Jr. (Loretta) and Karl Maurer (Marcie); as well as loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Jayme was predeceased by his father Arthur McRee and his grandparents, Alfred and Thelma Maurer. Private service planned for a future date.
