Obituary of Heidi Lynn Romines

Heidi Lynn Romines, aka "Gramma Heidi" 59, of Niskayuna, NY passed away at Ellis Hospital on February 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Schenectady on October 28, 1957, she was a graduate of Linton High School. Heidi was predeceased by her daughter, Melissa Ann Steward and her grandparents William and Annie Ruschmann. She is survived by her mother Hildegard Romines; 2 children, Billy Steward III and April Steward; 3 cherished grandchildren, Billy Steward IV, Lillian Steward and Bella VanPatten; siblings, Monica Gentile, Susan (Michael) Simmons, Ricky Romines, Terry (Vicki) Romines, Donald Romines and Kevin (Lillis) Romines. She also leaves behind an aunt, cousins, several nieces, nephews and her loving companion, William Howe. Heidi was employed by NYSDOT for over thirty years, retiring in 2013. Heidi enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart. She also enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod, attending food and wine festivals, concerts, and taking trips to the casino. There was never a moment where she didn't have a freshly brewed cup of coffee in her hand. Heidi was well known for all of the delicious cakes and cupcakes that she made for her family, friends, and coworkers throughout her lifetime. Her "Heidi Cakes" will be greatly missed by all. Calling hours will be held at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. on Thursday, February 16 from 5-7 PM. There will be a service held at 7 PM with Rev. John Califano officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
