Obituary of Gloria J. Church

Gloria J. Church, 73, of 2 Tryon Ave, Glenville, entered into rest on February 12, 2017 at Ellis Hospital. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer for nearly 5 years and breaking her hip was too much for her body to bear. She was born May 10, 1943, the daughter of the late Riley and Mertie (Walter) Straub. She was married to Kenneth Church III in November 1989, who preceded her in death. Gloria was a 1961 graduate of the Joint Middleburg High School and retired from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania as a Billing Clerk in 2008. She then moved to New York to be with her daughter, Michelle, and her growing family. She enjoyed gardening, being outside, making jewelry, frequent trips to the casino and loved her dog, Toby. Surviving is her son, Michael S. Reedy of Northumberland, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren, Scott Reedy and Kaitlin (Reedy) Savidge, three great-grandchildren, Trevor & Claire Reedy and Barrett Savidge, as well as her daughter and favorite son-in-law, Michelle (Reedy) & Jim Moorhead and two more grandchildren, Colin & Cayleigh Moorhead. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville, New York.
