Obituary of Vivian D. Pahl

Vivian D. Pahl, 86, passed away peacefully at her home February 27, 2017 with her family by her side. Born in Niskayuna on 12/1/1930, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah Gordon Mitchell. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady and Albany Business College, Vivian was employed for G.E. Co. While only a short time at G.E., she was "very good" at what she did at the company. She married the love of her life, Julius Pahl on August 5, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Schenectady. The family moved to Ballston Lake in 1966. The couple had always been active members of their church in Glenville. Vivian was a member of the Altar Guild and the famed Black and Blue Crew of Good Shepherd. The twinkle in Vivian's eye shown brightest when she was surrounded by her family and grandchildren. "Jeep" passed away on October 3, 2009. She was predeceased by two sons, Julius James Pahl and John Pahl. Survivors include her cherished children, Jeffrey Pahl, his wife, Tracy, Mark Pahl of Clifton Park, Melissa Rogers, her husband, Greg and Johanna Nowacki, her husband, David; six grandchildren, Kyle, Jason and Erin Pahl of Burnt Hills, James and Julie Rogers and Erika Nowacki. Vivian leaves behind her sister, Geraldine "Geri" (Milton) Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews. The Pahl Family deeply appreciate the care given to Vivian by the doctors, nurses and staff at Saratoga Hospital. Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 547 Saratgoa Rd. (Rte 50) Glenville with the Rev. Deron Milleville officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may call on the family Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the GLENVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville.
