Obituary of Jennifer A. Fantauzzi (Nelson)

Jennifer A. Fantauzzi (nee: Nelson), 67, of Burnt Hills, passed away March 11, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Troy, NY on November 20, 1949, the daughter of the late Raymond and Jean Nelson, she graduated from Stillwater H.S. in 1967. Jennifer went on to receive her associate's degree from H.V.C.C. in 1969. Jennifer married James M. Fantauzzi on November 29, 1968 at St. Mary's Church in Troy. The couple began their own business, Northeast Fire Protection Systems, Inc. when moving to Burnt Hills in 1978. They have successfully run the business together for 39 years. Jennifer always kept active with her children as they grew and was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed outdoor activities and exercise, including walking and aerobic training. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville. Besides her parents, Jennifer was predeceased by her brother, Gregory Nelson. Survivors include her husband, James Fantauzzi; son, John A. (Cara) Fantauzzi, Esq, (both of Burnt Hills); daughters, Stacey J. Fantauzzi of Glenville and Leigh M. Fantauzzi of Niskayuna. She leaves behind her brother, Dennis (Rowena) Nelson of Latham; and sisters, Bernadette (Bonnie) (husband Robert) Ernewein of Southfield, MI, Karen (Michael) Phinney of Ballston Spa, Marcie (David) Nagengast of Albany and Ceil Nelson of Florida; grandchildren, Marleah Fantauzzi, Isabella, Sophia, Devlin and Francesca Fantauzzi. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 9 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville with the Rev. Jerry Gingras officiating. Calling hours, Wednesday (Mar. 15) 5 to 8 p.m. at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. Interment will be at Greenridge Cemetery in Saratoga Springs.
