Obituary of Jennie B. (Thomas) Grecco

Jennie Grecco, 92, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2017 at home with her family at her side. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Martella (Esposito) Tommasone. Jennie graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1942 and subsequently enrolled in the Royal Beauty School. She was a member of the Omega Psi Sorority. Jennie married John P. Grecco, also from Schenectady, on June 25, 1950. Jennie and John moved to Glenville in 1971. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed going shopping. Jennie was an Immaculate Conception Church communicant and member of its’ O.L. Queen of Peace Prayer Group. She was also a Eucharistic minister for the home bound of the parish. Jennie was predeceased by her siblings, Alexander and John Thomas; Mary Corvino, Rose Sarutto and Carmella Damiano. The Grecco Family would like to thank the homel care team and it's volunteers, especially Rachel Winters and Margaret Hanley for their loving kindness. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Lewis Polsinelli of Glenville, her brother, Anthony Thomas of Cairo, NY and Marlene Allen of Schenectady. Jennie leaves behind several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (March 18) at 10 am from the Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Saratoga Rd. (Route 50) with Rev. Jerry Gingras officiating. A calling hour will precede the mass on Saturday from 9 am to 10 am. Entombment Most Holy Redeemer’s Corpus Christi Patio.
