Obituary of Marie E. Ricketts

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Ricketts, 86 of Clearwater, FL she died peacefully in the night March 10, 2017. She was born July 7,1930 in Geneva, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, James W. Ricketts. Marie retired from Ellis Hospital as a dietitian after many years. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church, and a longtime volunteer for St. Luke’s in Schenectady and St. Cecelia’s in Fl. Her love of the arts was clear with the multiple organizations she volunteered for here in NY and in Fl. SPAC, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Francis Wilson Playhouse and The Largo Cultural Center were just a few of the places she gave her time. She was a slick card player, crafty in more ways than one, and loved her summer home in Overlook. She will be missed. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Moffett and her son, Jeffrey Ricketts; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held Saturday April 8, 9:00am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1241 State St, Schenectady, NY 12304.
