Obituary of Theresa J. Griesche

Theresa J. (Nichols) Griesche, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 30, 2017 at Kingsway Arms. Born in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Teresa Nichols. Theresa was a 1942 graduate of West Hempstead High School. She married her beloved husband, Warren R. Griesche, Sr. on February 15, 1947. Theresa and Warren raised their family in Levittown, NY, where she worked for many years at Greenpoint Savings Bank until she retired. In 1991, she moved to the Scotia-Glenville areas where she became a member of the Loners on Wheels club, the Glenville Senior Citizens Center, Red Hat Ladies Group and the First Reformed Church of Scotia. Theresa was an avid bridge and mahjong player. She also loved to camp in the Adirondacks, travel around the United States in her motor home and take group trips abroad. She was predeceased by her husband Warren R. Griesche, Sr., and her sister Arlene Nichols. Survivors include her children Ronald (Sherry) Griesche, Richard Griesche, Paul Griesche, Warren (Mary) Griesche, Jr., and Susan (John) Renaghan. Seven grandchildren, Aaron Griesche, Zachary Griesche, Lauren (Tyler) Peetz, Christopher Griesche, Susan Griesche, Marc Renaghan, and Kevin Renaghan; three great grandchildren, Noah Griesche, Mallory Peetz and Gavin Peetz as well as her brother William Nichols also survive. Calling hours for Theresa will be held on Sunday April 2, 2017 from 2pm-6pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville, New York 12302. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 3, 2017 at 10:00am at the First Reformed Church of Scotia 224 North Ballston Avenue Scotia, NY 12302. Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
