Obituary of Dorothy "Linda" Furman

Dorothy "Linda" Furman, 77, of Burnt Hills, passed peacefully on May 20, 2017.She was born on November 16, 1939 in Albany, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice Campo.  Linda grew up in Amsterdam, attending Wilbur H. Lynch H.S., and graduating in 1957 and later attending S.C.C.C.  She married George on June 29, 1958 in Amsterdam, NY. Linda lived and raised her family in Burnt Hills for over 60 years before moving to Saratoga.Linda was active in many charities throughout her life including the Dorcus Society of Glenville Community Church where she painted flannel graph pictures for bible stories to be sent to various missionaries.  She also taught Sunday school for many years. Linda was a great cook and loved to bake and spend time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband George (Skip) Furman in April, 1999; brothers, Ralph and Joseph Campo and brother-in-law Don Fiebka.Survivors include her children:  son, Keith Furman (Teri) of Austin, TX; daughter, Kimberly McLean of Saratoga, NY; four grandchildren: Josh McLean (Kendra), Cory McClean, Jaclyn Griffith (Andy) and Michael Furman.  She has two great grandchildren; Raidyn and Cory Jr.Linda leaves behind a brother. Tony (Sue) Campo and two sisters, Ann Fiebka and Rachel Campo and sisters-in-law Sylvia Campo and Barbara Campo; brother-in-law Bob (Janet) Furman, all of Amsterdam, NY and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.  The family would like to thank longtime friends John Forshey and Ray and Vina Kaczmarczyk for all their love, support and assistance they provided over the years to Linda. Funeral will be held at 2 PM today in the Glenville Funeral Home, located at 9 Glenridge Rd. in Glenville.  Calling hours will be held from 12-2 PM. Interment will be in the Furman plot at Sweetman Cemetery in Charlton. Memorial contributions may be made in Linda's name to Schenectady City Mission and to Faith Baptist Church Deacon's Fund.
