Obituary of Paul E. Murphy

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 14th at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. (Rt. 50) Glenville for Mr. Paul E. Murphy, 85, who passed away at his home, June 10, 2017. Born on February 18, 1932 in Glens Falls, he grew up in Whitehall, NY, graduating from Whitehall HS, then receiving his degree from Albany Business College. He subsequently attended St. Clare's Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. He married, Patricia Johnson, on August 16, 1959 from St. Adalbert Church in Schenectady. They lived on Campbell Rd., in Rotterdam, for many years, prior to their move to Glenville. Paul was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Employed 31 years at St. Clare's Hospital's Radiology Department, he retired in 1988. Paul was always interested in the fine arts as well as travel. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Nora Ahern Murphy; and his brother, John Murphy. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Patricia J. Murphy; daughter, Sheila Murphy; and granddaughter, Caitlyn Poole. Two brothers, Vincent (Lynn) Murphy and Leo (Patricia) Murphy; and sister-in-law, Emily Murphy. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at Immaculate Conception Church, Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., prior to Mass. The family wishes to thank Community Hospice for the care which Paul received and wish to have contributions, in lieu of flowers, go to this caring organization. Entombment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum.
