Obituary of Henry Parker Mueller

Henry Parker Mueller, 91, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2017 at Schuyler Ridge. Born on July 1, 1925 in Summerville, MA he was the son of the late Henry Hochiem Sr. and Gertrude Parker. Following graduation from Medford High School, Henry proudly defended his country in the United States Army.

After the service, he received his undergraduate from Cornell University in accounting and received his master’s degree from Tufts University in business administration. On April 30, 1956 he married his beloved wife Elaine Shirley Mueller in Winchester, MA. The couple moved to the Glenville area in 1959 where Hank worked for General Electric. Henry retired from General Electric as an accountant after many faithful years. Following retirement the couple enjoyed traveling all over the country as well as Europe. 

Henry was a former member of the Shriners, Masons and Rotary. Henry was an avid lover of jazz music and had a substantial collections of LP’s and CD’s of the great such as Bennie Goodman,Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. Hank and Elaine also enjoyed frequenting the Glenville Queen to enjoy a meal. Above all Henry cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He always put his family first and loved spending time with them.


Survivors in addition to his wife Elaine, are his children Scott H. Mueller and Susan E. (David) Hoyt. His grandchildren David G. (Ansley) Hoyt, Lindsay M. (Mike) Stratton and Tyler C. Hoyt, his great granddaughter Emmie Lee Stratton, his brother Ronald (Carolyn) Parker as well as his sister in law Fran Parker also survive.  Also, he is survived by his special cousins Gretchen and Gail Miller as well as many nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by his mother and father in law Florence and Lindsay Foster and his brother Robert Parker.


Calling hours for Henry will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at the Glenville Funeral Home 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville from 5-7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Nye officiating. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family at the Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester, MA.
