Obituary of Sarah M. Watson

Sarah M. Watson, 38, passed away on August 3, 2017.  Born in Morristown, New Jersey she was the cherished daughter of Richard A. and Mary Lee Watson. Her wry sense of humor began in infancy.  Sarah grew up in Morristown and was a 1996 graduate of Morristown High School. In high school, Sarah was known for her fun, eccentric personality. She was a trailblazer in womens sabre and rocked the cymbals in the marching band.  She continued her education at Boston University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Film.  Afterwards, Sarah lived in Brooklyn, NY (before it was cool), but despite being in Brooklyn, Sarah displayed her individuality by rooting for the Boston Red Sox. Sarah was independent and sometimes enigmatic, but a genuine, empathetic friend to those who knew her well.  Sarah was a Jill of all trades, including soap-making, gardening, ceramics, belly dancing, finish carpentry and cabinet making. She was particularly gifted at creative writing and belonged to several writing groups. Sarah’s greatest creations were her two sons, Aleksandr R. Watson (19) and Cyrus F. Elliott (2), and she was a wonderful mother to them both.

Sarah was currently the Database Manager at the River’s Casino in Schenectady. Previously, she was employed at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway.  Sarah is survived by her loving parents Richard and Mary Lee Watson, her cherished sons Aleksandr Watson and Cyrus Elliott. She is also survived by Cyrus’s father David Elliott, her loving sister Rebecca Watson, brother-in-law John Morris, and her adored nephews Shane and Kurt Morris. Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends also survive.

Calling hours for Sarah will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 9-11am at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville. Funeral services will follow at 11am at the funeral home.
