Obituary of Mary Louise Ulrich Lepp

Mary Louise Ulrich Lepp, a lifelong resident of Scotia, NY, passed away on August 11, 2017, at the age of 95. Born in 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter Van Dyke Ulrich (Emma) and Amelia Anderson. Mary grew up on the Ulrich Farm with her brothers, John and Richard, and half-sister, Izzie. After graduating from Scotia High School, she worked at the General Electric, supporting the War effort. After marriage, Mary was totally devoted to her family. She became an active homemaker and mother, coordinating PTO events, Girl Scouting and church activities at the First Reformed Church of Scotia. When the children were older, she went to work full time, first as a Kelly Girl and then as a Senior Clerk for the Schenectady County Civil Service Department, until she retired. Mary spent most of her retirement spoiling her two grandchildren, playing cards at the Glenville Senior Center, going to the movies and eating out. Later in life she lived at Atria in Guilderland and Capital Living in Rotterdam, where she passed. Mary was predeceased by her husband, John "Pops" S. Lepp; and her brothers, John and Richard Ulrich. She is survived by her children, David of Scotia, Pam Curtis (Nelson) of Niskayuna; and sister, Elizabeth Ulrich. Mary also leaves her much beloved grandchildren, Virginia (Michael) Muehling of Rensselaer and CJ Curtis of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. On Tuesday, August 15, all are invited to join Mary's family at the Glenville Funeral Home 9, Glenridge Rd., Glenville, in a visitation from 1:30 to 3 p.m. following which there will be a short Remembrance Ceremony. Interment will immediately follow at the Parkview Cemetery, 40 Fehr Ave., Schenectady, NY 12304. We hope all friends and family can join us at 5 p.m., after the burial, for refreshments and fellowship at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 547 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY 12302. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Death with Dignity-Albany (www.deathwithdignityalbany.org/donate/) or Glenville Senior Center, 32 Glen Worden Road, Glenville, NY 12302.
