Elaine Mueller

Obituary of Elaine F. Mueller

Elaine F. Mueller, 87, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 at Schuyler Ridge with her loving children at her side. Born on November 5, 1929 in Stoneham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Lindsay and Florence Foster. Elaine was a 1946 graduate of Winchester High School and went on to obtain an associate’s degree from Fisher College graduating in 1948.  After graduation, Elaine worked as an administrative secretary in Washington D.C. for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Elaine married her beloved late husband Henry Parker Mueller on April 30, 1956 in Winchester, MA. The couple moved to the Glenville area in 1959. Elaine was a homemaker while the children were growing up. Once the children were old enough, she reentered the work force with various positions before beginning her career at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. She retired after many faithful years. Elaine was a longtime faithful member of the Burnt Hills United Methodist Church. She also was an avid swimmer, belonging both to the Jewish Community Center in Niskayuna and Charvale Pool in Charlton. Elaine was very artistic and loved oil painting. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and antiquing - often travelling to Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire to do so.  Elaine loved to visit the ocean, especially in Cape Cod.  Above all, Elaine loved her family. Holidays were always a festive time (using the fine china) for the Mueller family, as well as their routine Sunday dinners after church. She was an extremely proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and cherished all time they spent together.

She is survived by her loving children Scott H. Mueller and Susan E. (David) Hoyt, her cherished grandchildren David G. (Ansley) Hoyt, Lindsay M. (Mike) Stratton and Tyler C. Hoyt, her great granddaughter Emmie Lee Stratton, her brother and sister in laws Ronald (Carolyn) Parker and Fran Parker. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Henry Parker Mueller who passed away on June 15, 2017, as well as her sister Florence Foster.
