Obituary of David S. Riley

David S. Riley, 65, of Glenville (originally Hudson Falls), passed away unexpectedly August 22nd. Born on July 9th, 1952, he was the son of Dorothy J. Riley and the late John T. Riley. David started high school in Hartford and left at age 16 to go live with his Uncle Harold in California. He graduated from Terra Linda High School then enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea. He went on to work as a Corrections Officer at Mt McGregor, then to General Electric in Fort Edward. He spent the majority of his career, and retired from, the Shenendehowa School district as a maintenance tech and substitute special needs teacher. David was such a sweet guy, with a huge heart and beautiful soul. He had a mile wide smile and silly goofy laugh that will forever ring in our hearts. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sharon Riley of Glenville, his step children Andrea and Josh, his mother Dorothy J. Riley of Hudson Falls, his sister Joan M. Riley of Queensbury, his sister Lisa M. Henderson (Tom) of Queensbury, his nephews Kellen and Jaysen Henderson, his Aunt Anna Fleming of Queensbury, his cousin Lloyd Martin and wife Brenda of Georgia and a large extended family of caring cousins and friends. Pre-deceased by his father John T. Riley, his grandfather William J Osborne, his grandmother Viola Conety, his Aunt Marie Martin and his Uncle Harold W. Osborne. David was a very private guy and would not want a lot of fuss so we will honor him at a private family graveside service at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. For those of you who wish to donate to a good cause in his memory, please choose an animal shelter of your choice as David loved his dog "Woodlyn"
