Obituary of Douglas Murray

Douglas T. Murray, 92, of Rexford, passed away peacefully August 30, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Born in Portsmouth, England on August 26, 1925, he was the son of David and Victoria (Toth) Murray. As a young man he was a member of the Royal Navy. Emigrating to the United States in 1949, he married the former Elvira Auda in 1951.

Doug was employed as a taper and drywall specialist for J & R Builders, Daigle Construction, Coldbrook Development. He was predeceased by his wife Elvira "Ve" Murray and his sister, Iris Eldred.

Survivors include his daughters: Leslie (Joseph) Delaney of Burlington, VT and Lisa (Joseph) Russo of Colonie; and five cherished grandchildren: Sara (Greg) Studer, Mark (Kristin) Delaney and Ryan Delaney; Tracy (Bobby) Shive and Clare Russo; great grandchildren: Mason and Carter Shive and Damian Studer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on the family, September 9th from 10-11:30 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM.
