Obituary of Donald Joseph Hickerson

Donald Joseph Hickerson, 77, passed away suddenly at his home on September 27, 2017. Born in Valley Falls, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Clinton and Lena Hickerson.  Donald proudly served and defended his country in the Navy serving from 1957 and retiring in 1986. Donald married his beloved wife, Shirley Hickerson on February 12, 2000. He enjoyed golfing, especially at the Galway Golf Course. Donald also enjoyed friendly discussions with his family and friends as well as rooting for the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Glenville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, six grandchildren and one sister.

Funeral services with military honors for Donald will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 1pm at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871. Those wishing to process please meet at the Glenville Funeral Home parking lot by 11:45am.
