Obituary of Wanda J. Baker
Wanda J Baker (83) of Charlton, NY went home to her Heavenly Father on the 19th day of October 2017 at Ellis Hospital. Wanda was born in Troy, NY on July 21, 1934 and was the only child of the late Michael & Helen Zuzick. She was raised in Mechanicville, NY and graduated at 15 years of age from Mechanicville High School. She married the late George Richard Baker in April of 1956 and together they had six children and 5 grandchildren. She found her career with General Electric, retiring in 1995. Wanda’s heartbeat and passion was to spend time with her family and friends. Her favorite past-times were cooking, baking, going to Saratoga Race Track, listening to music and playing Bridge with her friends.
Wanda was a proud and beloved mother and is survived by, Michael Baker, Thomas (Deborah) Baker, Richard Baker, David (MaryAnn) Baker, Daniel (Julie) Baker and Susanne (Thomas) Clark. She was a devoted grandmother and is survived by Eric and Mark Baker, Rachael and Brandon Clark and Jessica Baker. She was truly blessed with lifelong friends and extended family and they are included in this list as well.
The family wishes to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ellis Hospital over the past week and the staff at Baptist Nursing and Rehabilitation Center over the past year.
Funeral Services will be held on the 23rd day of October 2017, 9:00 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. Following the Funeral Service, interment will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery located in Mechanicville, NY.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd day of October 2017 at Glenville Funeral Home located at 9 Glenridge Road in Glenville NY.
