Obituary of Richard L. Croce
Richard L. Croce, 63, passed away suddenly October 26, 2017. Born in Schenectady on January 24, 1954, he is the son of Louis Croce (FL), and the late Nancy Connery Croce.
Following graduation from Linton High School's class of '72, "Dicky" worked in construction for several years in Pittsburgh before returning home. He was married to Kristine A. Nicolella in a ceremony at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady on May 3, 1980. The couple raised their family in Niskayuna before moving to Ballston Lake. Dicky was employed for Mohawk Paper in Waterford for 37 years where he was maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed watching basketball and football, remodeling, and fixing things around the house. Family was most important to him. He was a dedicated father to his three children and a selfless provider for his family. His generosity and loyalty extended to everyone he knew. He will always be missed.
Richard was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Jane (Gunn) Nicolella and his nephew, Dallas Croce.
Survivors include his cherished wife, Kristine Croce, his beloved children: Louis J. Croce of Saratoga Springs, Erin N. Croce of White Plains, NY and Collette K. Croce of Queens, NY; his brothers, Sam F. (Doreen) Croce of Glenville and Louis R. (Bridget) Croce of Lakeland, FL., a sister, Judy (Al) DeCrosta of Schenectady. Dicky is the son-in-law of Joseph Nicolella and brother-in-law to Diane Guendel and Madge (Geroge) Schrom. He leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, Shannon Croce Howe, Anthony Croce, Angela Croce and Hanna Jane Guendel.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 31st at 11 AM in the Glenville Funeral Home Chapel, 9 Glenridge Rd., Scotia-Glenville, with Rev. Richard A. Carlino officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call Monday at the funeral home from 6-8 PM. Interment St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Memorials may be made in Richard L.
