George Khachadourian

Obituary of George S. Khachadourian

George S. Khachadourian, 63, entered into eternal rest with Jesus on November 4, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY.

He was the son of the late Khachadour (Khachig) and Mary B. Khachadourian.  Born and raised in Albany, NY, he graduated from Milne High School.

While raised under the loving influence of his father’s dedication to the family business, George developed a passion for business and entrepreneurialism.  Years of business management and merchandising led him to fulfill his dream to plan and develop Car Essentials, Inc. (Boomer McLoud stores) of which he managed and co-owned since 1988.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Ellen, and children Nicholas, Luke, Kristian, and Ava.  Two brothers also survive him, James (Linda) of Troy, NY, and William (Pat) of Duanesburg, NY.  He leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.   Most significantly, he cherished his beloved God-daughter and niece, Mikayla Carney and nephew Marco Carney of Endwell, NY.

George’s greatest treasure in his life proved to be the love, pride, and joy he held for his wife and children and the joy of knowing Jesus Christ as his Savior, Lord and Friend.  His final message for all who came to visit was to seek and follow the Lord Jesus.  George’s response to a question posed by his doctor in his final days illustrates his greatest quality.  When asked his favorite thing to do while enjoying time with family and friends in the Adirondacks, George pensively responded, “Just making sure that everyone was happy.”

The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the health professionals in Memorial Sloan-Kettering of Manhattan and Westchester, Samaritan Hospital 5th floor, and Ellis Hospital C-1.  Each physician, nurse and staff member provided compassionate care throughout George’s hospital stays.  We specifically are grateful for the wisdom and compassionate provided by Dr. Jose Guillem and Dr. Parisa Momtaz of Memorial Sloan Kettering, as well as Dr. Yoram Beer, Dr. Su Sukamaren and Dr. George Giokas.  Throughout each pivotal step of his journey, George was grateful for their caring dedication towards him.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY 12302.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 8 at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 11 Glenridge Road, Rexford, NY 12148.  Burial will take place at Albany Rural Cemetery.
