Obituary of Shelley J. Wunning

Shelley J. Wunning, 63, passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 9, 2017. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth T. and Jane (Compton) Gibbons. Shelley was a (1972) graduate of Oak Grove-Coburn School. She wed Andrew Wunning on August 9,1999, in Scotia. A stay at home mom and homemaker. When the grandchildren came years later she affectionately became “Grandma Mamunzi” and loved every moment of it. Shelley was a Christian, and her faith helped her deal with everyday struggles in life. She had an affinity for shopping, especially jewelry, watching her family grow into young adults, later with families of their own. She will be dearly missed and forever loved. She was predeceased by her son Jeremy Goodwin (2008) and her husband Andrew Wunning (2015). Survivors include her daughter, Natalie Collins (Matthew), sons, Donald Rogers (Jennifer Gongora), and Ryan Goodwin (Lindsay); grandchildren: Leilani Collins, Makayla Rogers, Giovanni Galeano and Linnaea Collins (on the way)! Also a step-daughter, Rebecca (Wunning) Cathell and two step-grandchildren, Finn Cathell and Zoey Cathell. Shelley leaves behind her brother Patrick Gibbons (Mary), sisters, Colleen Ruzza, Kim Mihuta (Robert), and step-sisters, Michelle Woods and Cheryl Welsh (Bobby). Several nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15, at 2 PM in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road. Scotia-Glenville. A calling hour will precede the service from 1 PM- 2 PM. Interment Park Cemetery Scotia.
