Obituary of Philip A. Wolfe
Philip A Wolfe, Jr, 69, passed away suddenly in his home on Sunday, November 12, 2017 with his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 48 years, Gayle (Stine) and beloved dog, Luciebelle at his side. Phil deeply loved his three daughters Tracie (Christopher) Norris, Christine (Christopher) Wade, and Jennifer (Ryan) Hernigle. He was adored as Grandpa to Jesse and Makenzie, and as “Bop-Bop” to Natalie. Phil was born to Philip and Genevieve (Kieru) Wolfe on September 14, 1948 in NY. Phil is survived by his brothers Kenneth (Cheryl) Wolfe, Dennis (Linda) Wolfe, and sister, Cynthia Wolfe Matthews, and several nieces and nephews. Born in Niskayuna, Phil graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Senior High and attended Hudson Valley. Phil was a lifelong outdoorsman and began his love of the Adirondack Park as a child through Boy Scouts, and through his many adventures with his brothers. Phil continued the tradition of camping with his own family, building upon his fond memories of fishing, hunting and snowmobiling in the mountains. He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for over 30 years, and continued restoring old cars and playing on Harleys in retirement. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 16th, 10 AM from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia-Glenville. Calling hours for friends and family will be held Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home. Interment will follow services on Thursday at Sweetman Cemetery in historic Charlton, NY.
