Obituary of S. Christopher Cook

S. Christopher Cook, 54, passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving, November 23, 2017. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of Janice and the late LeRoy Cook. Chris was a 1981 graduate of Shenendehowa High School and went on to continue his education at Hudson Valley Community College. He held many positions throughout his working life, beginning at Seaboard Auto at the Port of Albany.  He was the owner of “Aquariums Unlimited” in Lynn, MA, an Oil Blender for Mobil Oil, a Machinist for General Electric and most recently a Distillation Operator for Momentive Performance Materials. He was a proud member of the IUE-CWA Local 81359. Chris was also a N.Y.S. certified member of the Hazmat spill management team and interior fire fighter/ search and rescue response team.  Chris’ passions were motocross racing, his road bikes, and his trucks.  He was also a second degree brown belt in martial arts.  Above all he loved his son and daughter and his family.

Chris is survived by his mother Janice Cook,  his children Ryan and Katelyn Cook. He is also survived by his sisters Melanie Thyrring and Pamela (Mark Ladd) Cook and his brother Gregory (Wendy) Cook, his nieces and nephews; Kaylee, Johnna and Erik Thyrring,  Kayla and Erich Hofheinz, and Hailey Cook-Ladd, and extended family and friends.
